I want to upgrade my older PSE version to current PSE version. How?

If you own any older PSE version, then instead of buying a full version, you can upgrade to current version (as upgrade will be less expensive than buying Full version). For upgrading, you can visit: http://tinyurl.com/9pgrhte.

For example, I have PSE4 installed on my system. Now I want to have the current PSE version (which currently is PSE11). If I am going to buy a full version, it will cost me $99.99 as shown below (snapshots taken from link mentioned above and may subject to change)

Instead if I do a upgrade it will just cost me $79.99 as shown below:

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Today we saw this query on Adobe Forums. One of the user figured out that people recognition faces and photographs are shown in People Room but what about photographs where faces are not detected automatically and if users want to tag them with a particular People Face?
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Of course there is a simple solution for it. Manual People Face Tagging is also allowed in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11. Here are two ways of doing it.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1. Double click on your photograph.
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">2. Now you see an option to 'Mark Face' > Click on it and proceed with your workflow.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">What if you want to apply People Face Tag to multiple Photographs at same time?

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1. Go to Media Room
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">2. On right side Panel, locate your People Keyword Tags
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">3. Simple drag n drop the tag you want to apply to multiple photographs in the middle of Element Organizer 11.

Also all details are kept in mind like - what all should be part of a particular room, which set of rooms are more related etc. Anyways, Elements Organizer 11 has four types of main rooms called - MEDIA, PEOPLE, PLACES, EVENTS. Here we are not going to discuss these in details but names are quite intuitive to make you some solid guesses around the same.In new Organizer of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, now Folders are shown in two mode and works far better than earlier versions. by default you see all the folders from which you have imported the files into organizer and we can also switch to hierarchical mode which is what we used to see in old versions.Media Room shares almost all the functionality what we used to have in old Organizer (Image-well)...Full Screen View...Top bar of Elements Organizer 11 to switch between one room to another.People room is more about organizing the photographs according to the face information available.This was more of a quick glimpse through screenshots and would come with detailed information about new offerings in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11." border="0" height="386" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGGmbcNScNT_6ivS8PLwqu9N-yc92UuoDJ8xibTkHANLQXcW6t4fwrDRyTb3aEpL8aRVcnrw33R2B_iXLvT05wOmxIroM4Owkp-6Av_T4gsMW9Uv_Ypeo2-LnwnEJBpYkBDShvQ_N86c3N/s640/Adobe+Photoshop+Elements+Organizer+11+-+A+Completely+new+view+or+User-Interface.jpg" width="640" />

Please close Preferences and try again. || Errors in sharing album to photoshop.com

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; font-size: large;">Recently we saw problem in loading of Backup/Sync Preferences in Adobe Photoshop Elements. One of the users is getting following message on attempt of launching Backup/Sync preferences through CTRL+K or Edit Menu. - 'There was an error opening up the Backup/Synchronization Preferences. Please close Preferences and try again.'

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">
This error was always encountered irrespective of Catalogs of Adobe Photoshop Elements.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">
So let me share the process that happens on launching Preferences, especially Backup/Sync Preferences. On launch, preferences dialog tries to fetch albums in Catalog and on Photoshop.com. Most of the times this error occurs in case Elements Organizer fails to fetch albums from Photoshop.com. There can be various reason for this, so typical process of narrowing it down is -

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">
1. Try the same steps in fresh catalog. Ideally you should be able to see the problem there as well. If not, then it's something we need to work out together.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">
2. If above step creates problem in fresh Catalog as well, then check if you are able to load all albums on www.photoshop.com? I mean, go to Photoshop.com account and see if you are able to see all your albums there.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: left;">

3. If you are facing problems with PSE as well as Photoshop.com, then there can be some case of corruption in Albums.xml or some other malfunction. This is something you may want to raise with Adobe, but before that try steps mentioned at - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/incorrect-account-information-photoshop-photoshop.html

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Keyword Tags in Adobe Photoshop Elements have been used as organizing metaphor for a long time and slowly some of the users have identified the power of Keywords.

Appropriate keywords in JPEGs can be very useful for Photographers to increase their visibily on web. JPEGs can have these Keywords as Metadata and major search Engines like Google work well indentifying right images for search. And majorly these searches depend upon these keywords. E.g.- If we search for New York Photographs on Google, results will show photographs which have right keywords associated.

Now point is to understand the way to write these Keywords into the JPEGs. So here is a simple process -

1. Attach appropriate Keywords Tags to your Photograph.
2. Select this Photograph and Write Metedata through File Menu option.
3. Now export these photographs.

How to check if Keywords are added to exported JEPGs or not? - Import these JPEGs to a temporary catalog and then if it throws a dialog for importing Keyword-Tags then it shows that Keywords are there in JPEGs.

Now if we use such photographs on our Blogs or Websites, chances will increase for these to come in search results on Google.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">Today I realized that Album sharing by trying various gallery-templates in Elements Organizer can be very irritating, especially when you have multiple photographs in an Album. Because every time, we apply a template it takes lot of time to build preview and time increases with number of photographs/files you have.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">On discussing with one of my other PSE friend, I got to know about a simple workflow which can save lot of time.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">1. Pick 3-5 of main photographs from your Album and go to Album Creation workflow.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">2. Experiment with various templates you have and decide on a final template.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">3. Now add more photographs to your album and share it.

<span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">So if we look at this process, it will save lot of time while experimenting with sharing templates in Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer.

Travellingcamerahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16937370103696733383noreply@blogger.com1San Jose, CA, USA37.3393857 -121.894955537.1373982 -122.21081249999999 37.5413732 -121.5790985tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8371671381587314382.post-23358857646581570372012-07-06T07:54:00.000-07:002012-07-06T07:54:03.174-07:00Not able to locate your Custom-Bursh in Adobe Photoshop Elements?

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
I have a Photo-blog and long time back I had created a a brush to watermark my photographs before I put them online. Few days back that brush gone away from Adobe Photoshop Elements. I was wondering the reason for the same and the best guess I could make was - custom-brushes are swiped on loading new burshes which are downloaded from free online websites.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
So best way to keep custom-brushes is to save them after creation. In Brush selection dialog, there is an option to shape any of the brush. So whenever you create a new custom-brush, please save it explicitly. So that in future, it can be reloaded again after some problems with custom-brushes in Adobe Photoshop Elements.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Sometimes 'Define Brush' option under Edit menu of Editor (Adobe Photoshop Elements) remain disabled and at times, very irritating.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Here is one of the main reasons for state being disabled - If any side of the image is more than 2500 pixels. So simple solution is to resize image to reduce each side (Width and Height) less than 2500 pixels.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
There is one another similar incident through which your defined brushes get lost. This happens when you load any new brush. So best way to avoid it is to save the Brush after you define them.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;">
Many times it happens that Organizer goes in long wait-time while taking Backup of Catalogs and at times, overall performance goes down. At this point of time, people think that Back feature has stopped working.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; text-align: center;">
There can be various reasons for slow response, but one of the main reason found on forums is - External Drives. Not all, but some of the external hard-drives create this problem. So simply remove your external drives and see if it helps.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
Many times we see different threads on Adobe Forums and Elements-Village about using raw files of different camera models by Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax or Sony etc. This article is specially for special users of Nikon D800 and Canon 5D MarkIII. If you are using any version less than 10.0 of Adobe Photoshop Elements, you can't use the raw files in your software. But don't worry, there is a workaround to it and you would be able to use with earlier versions as well. We shall talk about it in later part of the article.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
For folks who are having Adobe Photoshop Elements, just follow below mentioned steps to use raw files of Nikon D800 and Canon 5D MarkIII in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.0 -

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
1. Go to Help Menu

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
2. Check for Updates

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
3. You will see an update 'Adobe Camera Raw 6.7'

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
4. Apply it.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
5. Relaunch Adobe Photoshop Elements and you are ready to use Raw files generated through your new cameras.

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
