Incorrect Sunbofders created while importing through Adobe Photo Downloader in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.0 || Hot-Fixes for Adobe Photo Downloader in PSE10

Recently Adobe found some problem with Adobe Photo Downloader in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.0 and some fixes have been provided. This mainly talks about the workflow when users download media-files (photos or videos) using Adobe Photo Downloader, subfolders are created with an incorrect date. Select Advanced Dialog > Create Subfolder > Shot Date  from Adobe Photo Downloader to create a subfolder for the downloaded assets. The subfolder name has an incorrect date. This is the user problem Adobe has tried to fix.

If you are facing this issue and want to resolve check out following links as per your version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.0.

Do you want to see thumbnails of Raw files in your windows explorer only !

At times, when we have to look at photographs in Windows explorer it's difficult to see thumbnails for our raw files. Organizer is of course a way to explore the files but at times needs is there to go to explorer and figure out some files.

Microsoft has just released "Microsoft Camera Codec Pack" which allows us to see thumbnails in explorer only. Please have a look at the link shared below and share your feedback through comments.

Photoshop Elements - Editor freezes while using Out of Bounds on Win7

Recently I was reading one thread on Adobe Forums where one user was facing some issue while using Out of Bounds feature on Windows-7. Editor used to freeze on clicking 'Add a Frame' option in guided workflow of Out of Bounds.

I like the fact on User forums that folks sincerely help each other and one of the user actually searched for the solution on Forum and shared... Which ultimately worked !!!

Here is the suggested workaround which worked for resolving this problem :-

1. Go to Control Panel of your Windows7
2. Then go to Appearance & Personalisation
3. Choose 'Change Theme'.
4  Then change the theme to 'Windows 7 Basic'.
5. Go back to PSE 9 and try again.

Email Sharing problem in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 or 8.0 on Windows-7 : “There is no email program”

Error message “There is no email program” or freezing of Organizer is reported at many places when folks tried to share photographs via the Adobe E-mail Service in the Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 OR 8.0 !!! Also Elements Organizer on Microsoft Windows 7 freezes... An error message  - "There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel." is shown sometimes...

Now thing is how to resolve the problem in Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0/8.0 if its installed on Windows-7..actually we have to install Microsoft Windows Live Mail and then configure it as the default mail client in preferences(through a registry entry) of Adobe Photoshop Elements Organizer...

1. Close Adobe Photoshop Elements.

2. Download and install Windows Live Mail...  For download and installation instructions, see the Windows Live website at  http://download.live.com/

3. Open SetDefaultEmailClient.reg in your browser and save it on desktop with the same filename.

4. On desktop, double-click SetDefaultEmailClient.reg. If prompted, click Continue. Click Yes on registry confirmation dialog !!!

5. Relaunch Adobe Photoshop Elements and attempt to share something and there should not be any problem now !!

When we share our photographs with the Adobe E-mail Service, Elements Organizer uses the e-mail client which is by default installed with Windows. These e-mail clients include: Outlook Express on Windows XP, or Windows Mail on Windows Vista, among others.

Because Windows 7 does not include an e-mail client by default, the Organizer is unable to send e-mail.
