Flickr, Facebook upload from Photoshop Elements is not working or Hanged !!!

I am a regular user of Adobe-forums and have been there for last four years approximately. During this period I have seen lot of issues related to Online Services, but most of them sorted out with very small workarounds.

Let's be clear on the main thing - Online-Services : IN Adobe Photoshop Elements, there are many hook-points with some external service providers like Facebook, Flickr etc. All these are called as Online-Services in Adobe Photoshop Elements.

Here are some of the online services which I can think of -
Kodak
Smugmug
Shutterfly
Facebook
Flickr
Youtube
Photostamps
CEVIA

Now if you ever face some problem with any of those, a generic workaround which has worked most of the times for forum-users is to reset preferences for Online Partner Services. Here are some simple steps to follow:-
1. Launch Organizer
2. Open Preferences through Edit Menu or shortcut CTRL+K
3. Go to Online Partner Services
4. Click on 'Clear Online Services Data'
5. Click on 'Reset Accounts'
6. Relaunch Organizer and try !!!

Photoshop Elements - Editor freezes while using Out of Bounds on Win7

Recently I was reading one thread on Adobe Forums where one user was facing some issue while using Out of Bounds feature on Windows-7. Editor used to freeze on clicking 'Add a Frame' option in guided workflow of Out of Bounds.

I like the fact on User forums that folks sincerely help each other and one of the user actually searched for the solution on Forum and shared... Which ultimately worked !!!

Here is the suggested workaround which worked for resolving this problem :-

1. Go to Control Panel of your Windows7
2. Then go to Appearance & Personalisation
3. Choose 'Change Theme'.
4  Then change the theme to 'Windows 7 Basic'.
5. Go back to PSE 9 and try again.

If you are also facing this and tried this solution. Please share your experience through comment or post on forum, so that other folks get to know about relevant things around the same.

How can we burn Photographs and other media files on a CD/DVD in PSE9?

Some of the earlier versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements used to have an option to burn a CD/DVD out of selected media files in Elements Organizer and now this option is not available in latest version, which is 9.0. But still there is an option to burn media files to CD/DVD. Here are some simple steps to do this :-

1. Select all the files you want to burn into a CD/DVD

2. Go to File Menu and Select "Copy/Move to removable Drive"

"Gathering Info" doesn't go away from Welcome Screen of Adobe Photoshop Elements

Many times I have seen people talking about a problem with Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0 and 9.0, where gathering information progress bar doesn't go away even after multiple hours.

Here is a common workaround that worked for most of the folks I have talked to. Just have a look and give it a try in case you are also facing this issue:-

1. Go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer location
2. Double click PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe for launching Elements Organizer
3. Click on "Welcome ..."
4. It will launch a dialog and there is an option for Signing-out.
5. Sign Out and Sign-In again.
6. Now launch Welcome Screen and you gathering info should not be bothering you now !

Never use Export functionlity of Elements organizer if you want to export JPEGs out of RAW files after Edting in Photoshop or Elements Editor !!!

I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements for long time and always shoot in Raw formats... My usual workflow is to download and import through Adobe Photo Downloader... delete unwanted photographs, add appropriate tags to photographs and make sensible albums... Then I star rate photographs and start processing them in Photoshop CS5... when done the final step comes, when I export all the processed photographs from organizer into JPEGs... After exporting JPEGs I used to share these photographs on my blog... Many times my friends complaints about the dullness, but somehow I never thought about it...

Few months back I came from a night photo-shoot with lot of street lights in the photographs... Processed these photographs in Photoshop and had used sharpness in Adobe Camera Raw dialog to get nice effect of street lights which were shot from a very long distance.... When I exported the JPEGs, all the charm was gone of these photographs and there was no sharpness at all !!! Then I realized the problem with Export option in organizer. Now I save the JPEGs in Photoshop or Editor only and keep them in version-sets...
